Well, since my last post, things haven't gone well on the training front. Our family moved to a new house, and I love it, but the stress of the move got to me a bit. Add on some work stress, some family stress, and a lot of bad dietary choices, and I pretty much lost 2 weeks of training. Right when I should have been peaking.
So, now that things have calmed down a bit, I decided to go 'all in' on training a bit here and see if I can put myself in a decent position to run well on June 24 in Manitowoc.
Yesterday's run was a hilly 10 miler that I managed to get in at 6:51 pace, which surprised me. This weekend I'm hoping to get another tempo effort in and also get in a 20 miler. I know I've got a sub-3 marathon in me someplace...I just need to uncover it.
While crash training probably isn't something all that smart, I really have nothing else on my schedule racing-wise until September, so I might as well destroy myself a bit before the end of this month!
I'll keep you posted how this weekend goes...good or bad. Promise.

It's better to go into a race undertrained than overtrained. Now, consider the guy who said that (and do what he says, not as he does).
