I'm chomping at the bit to run another marathon! I haven't run 26.2 miles or longer since last March, and I'm not sure I've had a break of that length in 3 years...which is most likely why I had the break I did---injury.
Last night I ran 3.5 miles with Parsenn at very casual "Parsenn Pace," then dropped him off and picked up the pace a bit for another 4.5 miles. I really tried to keep my stride smooth and not really get out of sorts breathing-wise, and ended up running 6:30-6:45 pace that entire time. I wasn't expecting that pace at all, and it only ramps up the anticipation for the marathon this weekend. I'll be driving down on my own (too much work for E&E to try and get down there) and meeting up with a friend who will crew for me. Because I don't want to taper too much, I'm still going to run relatively hard on Thursday.
Until then, I'm in full mini-taper madness!
