Hometown Pride

It seems my home area of Sheboygan County has an endless stream of absolutely ridiculous headlines. In just the past couple weeks, one man was arrested for DUI. The police arrested him in a bar--they didn't pull him over while he was actually "D"-ing. How is that possible, you ask? Well, it turns out he lost control of his vehicle leaving one bar on the way to another. In the process, he hit a power pole and rolled his Honda. He and a passenger/friend got out, assessed the situation, and decided the best action to take would be roll the car back into a "rubber-side down" position and continue on their way to the next watering hole. The accident was reported by a neighbor, and the police followed a trail of debris to the tavern, where the man was arrested and his friend was transported to a local hospital.

Then comes this, which involves:

  • A drunk driver pulling into a gas station and running into the barrier around the pumps.

  • Said drunk driver failing multiple field sobriety tests.

  • Said drunk driver getting arrested.

  • Said drunk driver urinating in the back of the squad car, and even urinated on the arresting officer while the officer was driving.
As a Milwaukee radio personality often says (they have a weekly feature of weird Sheboygan County headlines): "Put a tent up around the county and charge admission."

WOW! Where do you even start if you are the officer being pissed on?

Stop peeing on me or I'll pull this car over!

Get Teh F*ck Outta Town! From this safe distance of 500 or so miles, these stories are hilarious. So you're not the only one opting for another beer over a run, huh?

I always let Teh 'Bride drive whenever we go anywhere so I can drink more beer. ("Let" kinda loosely defined here.) Then I relentlessly criticize her: "Slow down or you're gonna hit that Pink Elephant! Whaddaya mean 'what pink elephant?'! That one! Right THERE!!! AIIIIIIIIEEEEE!!"

Good times.

Funny! I felt like I was in Sheboygan County last weekend at the game! Tomorrow night is my first experience with a beer mile, I need to channel my inner Sheboygan.

I think these problems must begin with the name "Sheboygan." I'm sorry, but that's funny. And if I lived there, I too might pull such dangerous, life-threatening shenanigans.

Holy doodle, it makes my incestuous, backwoods, flannel wearing community sound tame!

This is why I try not to get arrested.

Does the guy get charged with something extra for urinating on the officer? That's offensive at the very least, and perhaps an offense of some sort. The roads are full of freaks all over the place, but it seems that there is a certain level of macabre pride in this 'round your parts!

Wow, what a county.

Might as well pee on the officer. Realy, could things get any worse at that point? Go ahead and give 100% at that point. And, in the DUI world, I imagine "giving 100%" would include urinating on an officer.

OH...That is classic. As much as the arrestee probably enjoyed his petty act of revenge, he probably didn't enjoy the thorough beat-down he received after they got him out of the car.
