Catching the Marathon Bug

I just stumbled (more on that in a bit) across this article (that includes a photograph) announcing Kara Goucher will be running in Berlin in August. That's not what got my attention (neither is the photo...okay, yes it did). In the article, Kara shares she "desperately" wanted to run the London Marathon the Sunday after Boston, and wasn't talked out of it until Wednesday! How cool is that? I was taken aback by the emotion she shared after Boston, and this really shows how much the marathon means to her. Very cool.

As for that "stumbling" topic, my run today was terrible. I wanted to run an easy 30 minutes, then pick up the pace a bit for another 30 minutes. Instead, I ran 3 miles and felt really crappy. My legs felt especially dead, so I turned around and called it a day. The worse part? It's probably the best day here we've had since last fall. And my arms, as I've mentioned previously, could really use some sun.

Wow, she's hot!

But she's wearing the same ladies' long-sleeved cocktail gloves that you favor, so that's ruining it for me.

Way to ruin my Internet running porn for the day, Dr. Buzzkill!

Now I'll have to like head over joyRuN's blog or something to see what she's up to or see if she posted any pictures of her @$$, which I doubt because I've been asking for like months but so far nada because she gets off on being withholding, I guess.

Sorry to hear about the poopy run, but they just happen sometimes and they have no regard for the weather.

And you men and your ogling Kara Goucher. Sheesh. She must have beer scented sweat or something.

I think this article just shows that Kara does not have good friends.

I have friends who regularly try to convince me to run multiple marathons over one weekend and 50 and 100 mile events over the course of several weekends during runs, after runs and even during tapers.

But until recently I had not succumbed to my friends peer pressure. Now I've completely fallen off the wagon and am curious about the carnage come mid-December.

I am sorry you are not having a great running day. It happens to all of us. I tend to just turn around head inside and goof off until another day when running makes me happy. But when it is warm and sunny outside I will sit in our backyard and watch our cats run around...then I can pretend I am coaching them or learning improved form:-)

Hope your legs are happier and energized later this week!

Tammy

The photo of Goucher doesn't do it for me. Where's the caesarean scar? The jailhouse tattoo? The granny panties? Well, maybe in time...

I was hoping that link wasn't going to send me someplace I didn't want to go. You could have. It would have been easy. And cruel.
