Still cold here. And because of that (and who knows what else) I'm in a bit of a funk. Thankfully, this funk doesn't involve my running clothes, as I believe I'm the only runner yet to be given some detergent to try out. Seriously! How many brands are there?! Anywho...
Last week's mileage topped off at 5. Pathetic, I know, but it is what it is. I didn't have a ton of motivation (call it the Icebreaker hangover) and was busy with other stuff. And, oh yeah, it's cold outside.
But that all starts anew this week! I want to run at least 40 miles total and I needed some motivation. How did I find it? Registration fees!
As of this week, I'm signed up for Grandma's, Chippewa, and Trailbreaker. There.
After dropping the money I now need to start running so I can actually enjoy those events.
Starting tomorrow.
Updated: 5 miles at a decent clip tonight. Probably too fast, but at least I got out there--it's still F.C. outside.

I can see how running a marathon in circles could give you a hangover.
Happy running!
Tomorrow, that is.
LOL JoyRuN, I was thinking the same thing...that Doc was just dizzy from the arena!!
Running funks are normal after a big event. I know you know that....lol
signing up for races always makes me feel better too :) seems like everyone is going through a running funk lately!
great job signing up for those events, that'll help you get your mojo back.. great job getting out there for your 5 already... :)
Seriously, are registration fees getting a bit ridiculous these days? And yet, Boston Marathon sold out today. I don't get it. What recession?
I think the REAL reason you're in a funk is because G hasn't been around :P
A week off after such a dizzying indoor marathon seems well-deserved.
'Tis the season for a funk.
Nothing is more motivating than the fear of wasting a registration fee.
Hi Nic
It has been a cold one hasn't it? Glad to hear you signed up for Grandma's as I hear it is an amazing race. I almost did and then realized that Duluth is like 700 miles from where I live in Michigan. I honestly didn't think it was that far.
Glad to hear you got in a 5 miler even if you went a little too fast... speedy guy.
I hear you on the cold. I can't wait for spring!!
The best thing is to get a partner. That's the only way I can keep going through these Wisco. winter months...
