Pass the Gravy

I still haven't gotten back in to running much at all. Tomorrow I'm hoping to try out some trails before deer season opens, but other than that, motivation is still at an all-time low. The lack of running may be a good thing too, as each time I've gone out, I have had little aches in my feet and knees...almost reminders to take more time off, that there's no need to put in heavy work right now, that I need down time so that I don't end up like this again. My original plan was to take off November completely, then work up a bit of a base in December...before baby arrives in late December/early January. At that point...who knows. I'm guessing January will be a dirty diaper worth of training, and then I'll start working toward Ice Age 50k or 50 mile from February to May.

In the meantime I've got plenty to keep me busy...Packers, Deer Hunting this weekend, Thanksgiving, the Sleigh Bell Run (which I help organize and I'll be volunteering at, and mayyyybe running), a possible new home purchase (it's my dream home, literally abbutting the state land the Ice Age Trail is on!), and WORK. Recent purchases of another adjusting table, a new digital xray machine, and some other new stuff has the office really growing at the moment. And I say, bring it on!

I'm kind of looking forward to getting to work and putting in the miles in the cold and dark mornings of this winter. Easy for me to say now, right?

Run on!
